SENIOR FITNESS PROGRAMS
This fitness program is a proven, results-oriented program that allows older adults, who are often burdened with chronic musculoskeletal conditions, to take charge of their health and maintain a more active, independent lifestyle.
According to the American Heart Association, physically inactive people are twice as likely to develop coronary heart disease than their active counterparts. Which means regular exercise or activities that get you moving for 30 to 60 minutes each day can help you avoid cardiovascular health problems.
SportFit is not currently a licensed Medicare provider. However, we do work with seniors in our fitness center. Medicare places caps on physical therapy reimbursement to providers. These caps make it very difficult for seniors to meet their rehab goals. After discharge from physical therapy, they are often left wondering what to do next.
At SportFit, we focus on bridging that gap. If a senior still needs physical therapy, we offer cash rates and packages that make it affordable for seniors to meet their goals. We can transition seniors into the fitness center and custom-tailor programs for them, focusing on their goals in life and recreation, as well as their limitations. We also provide personal training services.
At our Biltmore facility, we have a large pool for aquatic rehab and fitness programs. This is helpful for seniors with joint replacements, arthritis, back pain and other conditions. In the past, seniors who undergo certain surgical procedures would have to give up their favorite sport to prevent reinjury. Today, with the advancements in modern physical therapy, even a condition as serious as a total hip or knee joint replacement does not mean that seniors must stop playing their favorite sport or engaging in their favorite activity. With proper rehabilitation, even those seniors can safely return to tennis, golf, baseball, softball, swimming or any other activity they enjoy.
Customized classes are designed exclusively for older adults who want to improve their strength, flexibility, balance and endurance. Health education talks and other events promote the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. A specially trained physical therapist will introduce you to the program.
It’s never too late to improve your physical health and conditioning. At SportFit, we can help. We offer comprehensive, hands-on physical therapy, biomechanical evaluation and fitness training. To learn more about how we can help, call us today.
